I hope everyone is enjoying summer!

I am writing this note after returning from Orlando where I was on vacation with my grandchildren at Disney World. We had a wonderful time together and it is just amazing how a few days away can bring a fresh perspective about what you value in life.

As we move into the month of August we transition into the calm and stabilizing element of Earth. Earth is all about grounding into what nurtures and supports our wellbeing, the things that make us happy. When Earth is out of balance, it can cause feelings of worry and anxiety. It is important to be compassionate with yourself and others this month and take steps to relieve any imbalances.

Like everyone else, I have been watching as costs and overall prices continue to rise and it has expanded my awareness about what purchases I choose to make. I took everyone for breakfast last week to a family-style restaurant that seemed overpriced for the meal they served. There is nothing worse than spending money on something and feeling as though you have not received any value from it.

However, everything shifted when all the Disney characters arrived around our table to the sheer delight of my grandchildren. They loved it so much! It reinforced for me that the value of what you receive is sometimes in the experience and not always in the cost of the product. To watch the excitement on their faces was priceless to me. I realized that these experiences that fulfill me and bring so much joy are what I value. They nurture and support my wellbeing.

  • Engage in activities like yoga and Tai Chi to help you feel grounded and at ease.
  • Avoid clutter – Clean up living and workspaces.
  • Stay focused on what nourishes and fulfills you.
  • Practice self-care – All of our body treatments relieve stress and anxiety and restore your body to its natural state of wellbeing.
