February is the last month we spend in the element of water before transitioning into the spring element of wood. This is the time to shed any old habits, circumstances or ways of being that no longer serve your greatest good, so that who and what you are intending can blossom in the coming months.

When the element of water is out of balance we can experience excess fear and it often requires an act of courage to bring us back into alignment with our natural or state of wellbeing.

Courage is defined as:  the ability to control fear and to be willing to deal with something that is dangerous, difficult, or unpleasant.

Spring is around the corner, is there anything you need to get courageous about?

I recently had to handle a situation that was very uncomfortable and forced me to dig deep inside to find the courage necessary to resolve it in the highest good of all involved. Going through the process helped me realize that courage takes on many forms. One of the most important is that you don’t have to handle everything by yourself. There is great strength in recognizing that its okay to ask for help. I could not have gone through what I did without “my team.” Their help and support enabled me to navigate the situation with clarity and care.

Whether your going through something that is personal or professional, it is wise to develop a process around what you are being courageous about. The first steps begin by becoming aware that the actions of yourself or another are not in alignment with the truth, and then:

  • Be willing to look at how you, another person, or situation is holding you back from what you want and the effect is having on those around you
  • Trust your intuition and determine how you are going to approach it
  • Get support if you need it from those you trust to help address the situation

We tend to allow difficult situations to continue because we don’t want to have to deal with them – despite the negative effect they have. It’s easier to think it will work itself out, although it rarely does. I hope these steps will help you to resolve any remaining challenges you may be experiencing that prevent you from becoming the vision of the person you intend to be and know deep down that you already are.

Lets all get courageous and grow up to be the best of who we are this month!

In wellbeing,

Betsy
